Rates and Policies

Registration Fee: Annual Fee: $35.00 for first child / $25.00 for each additional child in family. To be paid at Registration. Required to reserve spot in class.

Registering for classes at Backstage Dance Studio is a commitment from August to May. Tuition is divided into ten monthly installments (August to May). You are registering for a 32-36 week program and will be charged full tuition installment each month regardless of attendance, closures, and/or studio and school holidays. A 5 minute passing period between classes is included in the number of weekly hours.

All registration, tuition, costume and recital fees are non-refundable.

*Costumes purchased after December 15, 2025 will result in a $15.00 additional fee for shipping and cannot be guaranteed by Recital Picture time.

Class Withdrawal: To withdraw from a class, a 15-day notice is due via our withdrawal form. If the notice is not received more than 15 days before the 5th of the month, a full month’s tuition fee will be drafted.

Second child in family receives a 5% monthly tuition discount.

  • Conroe Spring Break: Monday, March 9, 2026 – Friday, March 13, 2026

  • Good Friday: Friday, April 3, 2026

  • Last Week of Classes: Anticipated to be the week of May 11th or May 18th, 2026 (TBD on Recital Weekend)

Dress Code:

​Shoes and attire can be purchased through us on our website here. Our partners at ShopNimbly offer quick shipping, thorough sizing guides, and hassle free returns/exchanges.
 

  • Pre-School & Ballet/Tap I: Black or pink leotard, pink tights, ballet skirt (optional), pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, hair up.

  • Ballet/Jazz I & Ballet/Jazz II: Black or pink leotard, pink tights, ballet skirt or capris or jazz pants or dance shorts (optional), pink ballet shoes, tan jazz shoes, hair up.

  • Ballet/Tap/Jazz II: Black or pink leotard, pink tights, ballet skirt (optional), pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, and tan split sole jazz shoe, hair up.

  • Musical Theatre I & Up: Black leotard, tan tights, dance shorts, capris, or jazz pants, tan split sole jazz shoe, hair up.

  • Hip Hop I & Up: Athletic clothing like tank tops/t-shirts (no midriffs), and yoga pants/shorts (no jeans), tan jazz shoes, hair up. 

  • Ballet III – VI: Black leotard, pink tights, ballet skirt, pink split sole ballet shoes, hair in bun.

  • Jazz III – VI, Lyrical/Contemporary, Leaps/Turns, Drill Team Technique, Strength & Stretching: Black leotard, tan tights, black capris, jazz pants or dance shorts, turning shoes, hair up. No midriffs. 

  • Tap III & Up: Black leotard, tan tights, black capris, jazz pants or dance shorts, black tap shoe, hair up.

  • Adults: May wear appropriate comfortable dance clothing

  • Gentlemen: White t-shirt, black pants/shorts, black ballet shoes (ballet), black jazz shoes (jazz), black tap shoes (tap)

General Policies:

  • Student Age: Age is based on age as of October 1, 2025; however, a student’s age is merely a guideline and final placement is at the discretion of the instructor. This policy is in place to ensure that the students are dancing at their appropriate level. 

  • Absences: Excessive absences and/or unpaid accounts may lead to removal from class and/or recital.

  • Inclement Weather: Backstage will close for inclement weather. To make up missed classes due to closures, you may attend the same level class within a 30-day period. 

  • Class Minimum: Any class with less than five students on October 5th is subject to being cancelled.

Student Class Behavior:

  1. Attendance: Consistent attendance is important. Please arrive on time, and only enter late if absolutely necessary. If you need to make up a class, you may attend another class of the same level within 30 days.

  2. Readiness: All students must be potty trained.

  3. Dress Code & Conduct: Students are expected to wear the appropriate dress code attire. After one warning, failure to do so may result in removal from class. Chewing gum is not permitted.

  4. Classroom Etiquette: Students should listen attentively and avoid disruptions. Cell phones, smartwatches, and other devices must be set to silent and remain unused during class.

  5. Respect & Behavior: Students are expected to show respect to teachers and classmates. Disrespectful behavior may result in temporary or permanent removal from class at the teacher’s discretion.

Parent and Guests of Backstage Regulations:

  1. Facility Conduct: Please be respectful of others—foul language, running, and throwing objects are not allowed.

  2. Cleanliness & Furniture: Help keep our space tidy by disposing of trash in the provided bins. Please do not move furniture.

  3. Restroom & Lobby Conduct: If you have a young child, please assist them in the restroom to ensure proper use and cleanliness. All children, including dancers, are expected to behave appropriately in the lobby—no running, excessive noise, or disruptive behavior.

  4. Timely Pick-Up: Please arrive on time to pick up your child at the end of class. A $10 late pick-up fee may be applied if you are more than five minutes late.
